I've been doing a bit of research into fry care, and I'm getting very worried because I was not prepared for this and I'm afraid they'll starve. I do not have access to stuff like microworms, vinegar eels, etc, and I don't think I can hatch baby brine shrimp because I do not have an air pump.

Right now I just read about "green water" and I'm trying to grow some, but of course after millions of sunny days in a row, today decides to be rainy. So I don't know if this will be ready in time to keep them alive - it's supposed to take a few days (in the sun).

I do have "Liqui-Fry" commerical liquid fry food, but I don't know if they can live on that - and I don't even know if they're accepting it. They're soooo darned tiny, I don't know how they fit anything in those teeny mouths.

I read about doing an egg yolk mash, so I'll try that soon, but I'm afraid it will still be too large for them. Argh! Does anyone have any suggestions, experiences, or ideas? I wanna keep at least a few of the cute lil guys alive! Starving them due to lack of preparation is not my plan. :-(

Congrats on the fry, juliethegr8t. :)

What species are we talking about?

crush up some flakes for a while n add them to ur water or make a paste ......ur lil fish will love it:D

If they are within a week of free swimming I would feed them liquid fry for egg layers. They'll eat it. Crushed flake food or dry food after a week of them being free swimming.

smb - They're Zebra Danios so they're extreeeeeemly small.
I feed my danios powdered flake food and a few squirts of green water the first 2 weeks. They also eat the micro-organisms that live in the java moss in the tank.
