So my baby fry have their own five gallon tank because only two of them made it and they are so tiny. I put the filter on so that the water is clean but I'm afraid that it's too strong and they will get sucked in. Should I shut it off? Until they are bigger at least?

Yes, I was talking about this earlier in the week and was encouraged on here to get a sponge headed thingy. Your fry will definately be gone by morning!

Cut a pair of clean tights. Then place over filter outlet with a rubber band.
Or a small holed net, with a rubber over outlet flow.

A sponge ffilter pad works great too. The aquaclear ones work outstanding. cut a hole in it, fit it over the intake, and secure with a rubber band. I havent lost any fry using this method.

Okay. Until I can get a sponge thingy (which I can't get noe because nothing will be open) should I leave the filter on or off?

Okay. I'm going to leave the filter off just for a night brcausr ot is five gallons abd they won't run out of air in just one night and I don't want then getting sucked in in their sleep. I'll buy a net with small holes to pit over it tomorrow and tell you all how everything goes. Thanks! :)

I've used, netting, sponges to stop fish getting sucked in.
Make sure you secure the rubber band tightly, as the net can blow off if not banded tightly.
