Well a couple of weeks a go my small female gave birth to 7 fry (unfortunatelly died due to mini cycle i caused). Now i am down to 2 a couple were as when moving them when cleaning out my tank i accidetally left them in a container as i didn't spot them. Yesterday there way 3 in the breeding trap today their is 2 their isn't any gaps (i don't tihnk) where else could they go i can't find a body anywhere! Its a mystery alright any help?

what kind of fishes are they...

maybe they hid in the gravels at the bottom if you have...

maybe they were eaten by the big fishes...

or maybe they were thrown when you are cleaning the tank...

better to check it again...

I've heard many horror stories about the adults sucking the fry through the small slits in the breeder box. :-( I read somewhere (it may or may not have been on these boards, I can't remember) that you can add a small layer of gravel to the bottom of the breeder (covering the slits) to prevent this from happening.

wow, i think my angel fish has definately being doing this. sigh*

it is a very common thing for fry to die, i had over 60 platy fry a few months ago (yes i counted them!) and i am left now with only 9. a few actually died but most just seemed to vanish and a few got eaten by my angels as i risked putting some back in my main tank.

i rarely have any fry die, are you sure everything is fine in your tank? water stats etc?

You will get weaker ones die but not an extent of more or less al of them
