As some of you know, I have two baby platies from a few days ago (a week on Saturday I believe). They are still in the plastic breeder that they were born in, as they are still too delicate to move, I think. Anyways, one of them is EVIL! Almost always whenever it sees the other one, it chases, and from what I can see (cuz they are sooo tiny), it bites it! The poor little thing runs until it is hidden. I do have a piece of a live plant in there so that they are apart quite a bit, but it still worries me. Has anyone else noticed this? I've never seen such an aggressive platy, much less one that is under a week old! I don't want the chased one to be too stressed out and die. I want to keep both of the little cuties! How soon do you guys think I could move them to the fry tank? I think I've made this mistake of moving them too early before and that is why they died. Anyways, maybe Saturday? Is a week enough? And am I just being an anxious mommy? :/ Poor wittle babies..

Also, just as a sidenote, they seem to be growin vewwy fast on their diet of microworms and First Bites. They just love those little wiggly guys, AWW SUCH CUTE FAT BELLIES.

My platy fry do this to each other all the time...it has settled down a bit if this helps you at all. As for the biting...they can't do any damage to each other at this age....if you are worried about it you may want to put some java moss into the trap.

My guess is that they can be moved now....provided the fry tank is setup and ready to go. Just be careful moving them...I use a teaspoon to coax them into a cup to avoid the net damaging them...that way they never leave the water either. If there is plenty of hiding places in there it will make the bullied one more comfortable....and if they want to escape they can bury themselves in the gravel (and also so I can't look at them....silly fish).

One of my platy fry has grown up so much now it actually looks like a platy with that crazy upturned mouth....they're so sweet when they're young!!

Goodluck!!

PS....there is nothing wrong with being an anxious mommy....if you don't protect them then noone will!!
