Hi my five fry are 4 months old this 15th and are getting colour, but they are showing to be female will they change?

In guppies a little colour may develop before the gononpodium shows, but it dose depend on the type/species were talking about here.

so let us know what fry you got and we'll do more.

I'm not sure but I don't think they are fancy guppies. The mom was silver with a pale blue fins. The dad I have no idea as I got her pregnant.

Mom was like this one but her tail was baby blue with no patterns.

Right so their guppies then.

The fry are at about the right age to be sexing out any time now.
So you should see some males developing some colour soon, and the anal fin (the triangle shaped fin on the underside) Should be developing into into the male breading organ which is pointed.

With only a small number of fish, it is also possible you have all males or all females. When I want a fairly good chance of getting a pair, I buy 6 or more juveniles. That gives me over a 95% chance of getting at least one pair of fish out of the 6 juveniles. If you bump up to 8 fish, the chances become very high, over 98% if I remember right. Time will tell but it is still too early to panic, as helterskelter said.

I have 3 or so that are getting dark and specks of dark colour, the others have no colour just on the tail. Also if I look from above the tank there is a red shimmer on them it's neat, do you think they will go red?

Black and blues are the first colours to show then yellow and green, however reds are general last to develop.

If you are seeing 3 of the 5 starting to color up, and they are all about the same size, you probably do have a mix of males and females.

Oohhh okay I guess time will tell more. Then I will seperate the makes cus I don't want incest taking place.

i have 3 guppy fry about to be 5 months this 16th and 2 of them r males and they have color and gonopodiums that came all at once at about 11 weeks of age..the other one is a female but has not color just a gravid spot
