I picked up some frozen brine shrimp yesterday. I thawed a cube of it and split it between the 3 tanks. To say the fish went bananas would be an understatement! They went nuts. Obviously it was much tastier to them than even freeze dried.

So how often can I feed brine shrimp? If they eat all of them, do I have to worry about them making the water salty? Sorry if that sounds like a silly question.

Any frozen foods I shouldn't feed my freshwater fish? Other ideas of stuff these guys might like?

You can work out a feeding regime starting with your staple flake food, then purchasing other frozen foods in that particular range from which the Brineshrimp came, : ie bloodworms etc. Alternating the foods on different days will give your fishes a little diversity to their diet.

i usually give my fish brine shrimp once or twice a week mixing it with other types of foods esp cucumber.... they love it!!

I give mine that treat at weekends (as a reward for tolerating my weekly water change and gravel vac!!).

Cheers,

Stephen.

i give my fish it once every 7 days multiplied by 1/2 divided by 3 multiplied by 27 divided by 9.

7 * [(0.5 / 3) * (27 / 9)]

= twice a week :D

(mind you I havent touched the stuff in about 7 years so it was fun for me.)

oh you gave the answer
:(

I only feed mine brine shrimp once a week, but I also throw blood worms in the mix
