hmmmm..... dont ask silly questions .......TROLLL!! btw every single living thing is important in it's own unique way!!!

why that a silly question? im just checking to see if that is ok, or if i need to feed them flakes as wel!!!

If they're only going to be feeders, get cheaper feeders - breed guppies.

Bloodworm is good for fish sparingly, not as a staple - I feed it once a week or so. Right before you feed fish to the piranha, feed them food that's good for the piranha. It's called gut packing - it makes them more nutritious, since many feeders are little better than eating sticks of butter.

thank you very much for your reply! The neons werent meant for pirahna's at the start, just to help the tank get started, and now two are getting really fat, which is making them not look very nice, so am giving them to my friends pirahna's! The circle of life as they say!!
thanks again!!

do you feed your fish anything else?

My community fish get flake and sinking micropellets daily, with algae wafers for algae eaters. I add 2-3 treats weekly - tubifex, bloodworm, shrimp, black worm, or whatever all is in Omega One's frozen community mix. Also, a leaf of lettuce or slice of zucchini overnight each night (for algae eaters and snails).

If the neons are getting fat, it could be dropsy. Sick fish should never be used for feeders, as you risk passing whatever they have to the predator.

Fat neons could also be females coming into breeding condition.
Thanks all for the reminder, I have some brine shrimp and blood worms defrosting and had forgotten them while reading this forum. They are about to become a treat for all of the tanks of larger fish.
