Not sure wether to set up mbuna or tang tank? I like Frontosa`s i know they get big but wanted to know what size tank is minimum and is it ok to have just one with a few other tang fish. Also is a cyrtocara morrii(blue dolphin) a tanganyikan fish, it just i`ve seen some people keep them with malawi, is this ok?
Advice gratefully appreciated for my new venture
Angel

Cyrtocara moorii are actually from lake Malawi and can be kept with Mbuna although they do get to around 9" and are carnivores so feeding can be difficult with many Mbuna species being Herbivores.

Fronts IMO need at least a 5 footer as they can reach 15" and are comparable to Oscar's in tank requirements. They can certainly be kept with other tangs but again, much like Oscar's, they can eat anything that will fit into their mouths.

My tank is 48X 15X18 so sadly a frontosa is now out of the equasion. (one day  )
What different varietys of colourful mbuna can you recomend that would go with a dophin, i like yellow labs and red zebras are these ok, would also like some blue coloured fish, can you recommend some for me so i can have some knowledge of what is compatible before i hit the lfs ( never certain wether to take their advice, as when i first started out in fishkeeping, many moons ago, i was sold many incompatible fish, had to learn by my mistakes. Thank heavens we now have forums.) .
I am going to use 2 external filters so it will have good filteration.
Advice appreciated Angel

If you are going to keep Moorii, i would reccommend sticking with Mbuna that are Omnivores, which includes Yellow labs. M.Estherae (red zebra's) are also Omnivores and for some blues, i would suggest Melanochromis Cyaneorhabdos . :good:
