Hi all,
Has anyone ever put plants from a pond into a tank?
I have a koi and a fantail goldfish that loves to munch their way through the plants in my 350ltr goldfish tank so I always replenish them every couple of months, there's only the two of them in there but boy can they eat!
I usually buy plants from the LFS but recently decided to buy a batch online as it was cheap! 100 strands of eleoda for £5.... when they came I realised that they were from a pond.
They are currently being quarantined but there are worms and all sorts floating around, I've rinsed them but there always seems to be the odd creature....
Been like this for two days now... shall I put them in the tank? I've read that a 5% bleach dip can help? Any thoughts?
Thanks

I've done it before, lots of rinsing then a soak in salted water changing the water & salt every day for a few days, then a final rinse & inspection & into the tank.
I had no problems, as long as you know the fish in your pond are healthy you should be ok.

I thought about salt other than bleach, bleach sounds too harsh for me! Thanks I will give it ago, think i'll leave it a week before I stick it in as I don't know if the pond was healthy...
