Hello, I'm not quite sure if I'm posting this in the right area but I was unsure of where to put a post on african dwarf frogs. When I bought them they told me that these particular frogs weren't the brightest when it comes to feeding  sooo I originally had them in a tank w/ gravel but they never seemed to see the food and my other fish tended to eat the worms before the frogs even noticed them. So I know moved them to a tank with no gravel but the fish in their eat them to. I was wondering aside from taking them out and feeding them is there any other way. Like some sort of trick to feeding them?

I would feed mine with a turkey baster. After about a week, they get used to it. If I didn't use the baster, they would starve.

What fish do you have with them?

I have a betta and four harlequin tetras. None of these fish bother them but they all eat blood worms. I'm not quite sure how to get food to them because the betta will eat the blood worms even if they are settled at the bottom. :(

I have three in my community tank and they always seem to find something to eat. We've even joked about putting one on a diet because he gets so fat. There are several different things that were mentioned to me. One was using a turkey baster and the other was to use little pipettes like those that come with testing kits. Both will get the food down to the frogs. Just feed your other fish first and then when they are full, feed your frogs. HTH.

I think I'll try and find something like a pipette or turkey baster. However, my betta has an unsatiable appetite...and I am scared he might over eat cuz he LOVES blood worms. When they get to the bottom he does this vertical action to get at them... ...so I'm unsure how much he would eat and if it is healthy for him.

Yeah, some of them are little piggies. Good luck with your frogs. I think they'll be just fine. I love mine. They are so much fun to watch. :D

I have 3 ADF's in a community tank and I always feed flakes to get the fish busy then drop in about 8-10 pcs of "Variety Wafers" from Tetramin. They sink to the bottom and the frogs fight over them. The apple snails and cories like them too.
