Freshwater Sump

Does anyone have any experience with using a sump/refugium on a fresh water tank...

i was going to use my spare 29 gallon and i discovered that it does not fit at the bottom of the cabinet of a 72 gallon... so i am going get a 15 gallon or 20 gallon... \

i intend to but 2 gallons of bio ball and have a 10 gallon refugium were i can grow cherry shrimp and java moss...

What do you guys think... t
