I recently bought 3 freshwater shrimp from my LFS, they're always active and funny to watch.
They were labelled as 'freshwater shrimp' so i have no clue what they are but heres a picture

I just wondered how big theyre likely to get and will they eat any fry?
There are lots of low plants which the fry have survived from other fish in before.

they are amano shrimp, also known as algae shrimp, am interested to see the other replies about fry cause i was wondering the same thing

I have 2 amano shrimp in my 10 gallon fry tank and I've never seen them go after the babies before. They usually zoom around catching flake food, instead.

They are quite the characters, once they settle in.

I agree, they have great character to them.
The way the slide accross the front of the tank and just sit on rocks and stuff.
And ive never saw anything devour a dead fish so fast, the shrimp was carrying the guppy away by its head before i even had chance to net it out, was quite amusing to watch lol.

Heres a pic
You can also see my pregnant platy, she should be dropping soon i hope
