I havent quite figured out how to clean out the sponge filter on the box yet as it doesnt come out....but the gravel is now clean. They are getting bigger every day now and their fins are really starting to develope :)

Awww - nice to see the Three Musketeers are doing well!

They are at the googly eyes stage LOL - funny how their eyes grow much larger than the rest of their bodies to start with, isn't it?

Oh, was there no instruction leaflet with the filter box on how to clean out the sponge? Something most probably unclips somewhere, I should think. What are all those strange red blobs?

I took some photos on my mobile phone yesterday but haven't had a chance to download them to my pc at home yet. Will probably do it on Saturday.

My lot did that weird thing again a couple of times last night - where they all "freeze frame" at the same time and stay like it for a while and from what I saw it seemed to be the adult male who was controlling this behaviour. Perhaps it's a type of shoaling behaviour, I don't know. Looked like the male stopped suddenly and every other fish stopped with him and didn't move again for a minute until he did. Then some time later on he did it again (usually when I'm about to walk near the tank) and the others followed suit in a split second.

Maybe when your fry are a bit bigger and in the main tank you might even see them doing this too.

Perhaps I'm spooking them somehow by moving suddenly and their defence mechanism kicks in. They might think that by keeping still I won't notice they are there LOL :hyper:

Anyway, thanks for posting the pics. Nice to see your convict fry developing over the weeks.

So week five is upon us. My fiancee' and i didn't think they would last this long. There was another batch that hatched last week but there is zero of them left. (I think they got gobbled when they weren't looking.) They seem to be growing more every few days. They have their shape now and their body isn't red and see through now. Their fins are really starting to take shape.
