Freeze Dried Brine Shrimp

Hi guys, sounds silly but I never know how much of this to put in. I've got the frozen dry cubes of brine shrimp, and my fish tank is only housed to 6 little fish at the moment.

How much of a cube would you feed them, and how would you do this? Break it into little bits or let it fall apart in the water?

take a cup and scoop a tiny bit of tank water into it. get your brine shrimp cube, cut off a tiny piece with a knife and put it in the cup. swirl it around until it's no longer frozen and then pour it into the tank.

How many times a day / week should I feed them brine shrimp?

only feed then once a day a FEW times a week. its like eating ice cream. its a treat but you wouldnt want to eat it as your only food. frozen bloodworms are good too. prepare them in the same way and feed as a treat a few times a week.

i just realized that they are freezedried. make sure you saok them for several minutes until they get soft. freezedried foods can sometimes cause constipation in fish. its ok if you soften them by soaking, just dont feed them too often. twice a week should be ok if you spread out the days.

Cool, thanks! Would you be able to do brine shrimp twice a week, blood worm twice a week, rest of the time flake food? Or would that be too much?

Ah okay, i'll have to do that from now on, good job i've only used them once and only used a small ammount.

Shame it doesn't tell you this on the packing!

that shold be fine. one day a week it would be good to feed your fish a cooked deshelled pea. just pop on in the micro for a few seconds or in a cup of hot water for several minutes. squeeze the pea out of the shell and chop it up into small pieces. feed this to your fish. just add small amount at a time so that you are sure they eat it all and it doesnt end up rotting on the bottom of the tank. my fish go nuts for peas.
