8) Alright so. I just got one of these tanks for free!!

I am thinking of going with a stepped slate bottem with Ricca and several Swords coming up here and there. Maybe a slate wall to one end to keep a betta in. I am way ahead of myself! I don't even know where to put it yet. :X Then the cycling and blah balh blah. Hell! It is still inthe car.. tomorrow I will see if she leaks. if it does! can i seal it up again myself? :/

Can someone tell me the gallons?
Where Can I find a hood?
Anythign I should know about Ricca?

Also! My DIY co2 reactor!! (currently in the prototype phase) http://media.putfile.com/DIY_co2reactor

(Btw, that's an actual mountain, not an aquascape )

Your tank's around 65 - 70 gallon range, more or less. Where'd ya get it???? :D

Yes, I am aware that is a mountain. and yes kind of like that.. maybe a slate cliff type thing on one side or slowly stepping down slate.. anything but jsut a 100% flate slate and gravel bottem. -_-

And as for the tank story... I seem to havew people throwing tanks at me.. my one friends brother gave me a free 29 gallon.. and this one if from a highschool buddy. He used to have a snake in it but it escaped so he has no use for it. I was at his house and I was sittign there and I was like. "Colin.. is that an aquarium?" and he replied" why yes it is.. why.. do you want it?.. you can have it.. if you let me have your Cardboard Armor (I have this name for a reason...) so i gladly accepted.

Ahh good friends you have. Mine won't even share a twinkie with me hahaha!

Pretty cool idea with the slate and riccia :good: Just make sure your wpg is up for it (3 wpg and up, I think). And oh, I recalculated the tank volume, it's at 70-75 gallon range, not the initial 65-70  Sowee!

 :S  :fun: :D OMFG! well thank you sir.. that is 6 more goldfish.. I will buy Omega pretty ones.. SHow grade... 8)

and Don't worry about WPG. with my 50/50 10k Kelvin bulbs I get like... 3.6 WPG on my 55 so the same system will be 3+. 8) and with my CO2 reactor all is well. I will jsut haver to make sure my new DIY generator is able to do two tanks at once. -_-

That's Ma'am to you! :p

Ok, I'm not sure if goldfish will eat your riccia though. You have to check on that one.

well.. doesn't Ricca grow fast? they might chew on it but goldfish are not as ravonius as the rumors say. :D the only mistake people make is not throwing enough green the tank at once. :D I out hairgrass in once and it was gone very fast. I then put alot in and it stained.

How would you get the riccia on steps of slate. As wouldnt this need slate to rest ontop of the stepped slate in order to cover it. Or are you not wanting the steps visable, but just a slope? Sorry, i've explained that bad but it is 6:45 :D.

like.. A flat piece of slate with Ricca tied down to it... then a few pieceds of bare slate under that to give a cliff liek appearance.. then a little ourstretch with ricca and then another cliff... all this acstending out across the tank.. :/

:D I could make the inside of the cliffs a big thing of filter media and sponge and make it a huge under "gravel" filter right? would that work? :X

What does 50/50 mean?

that is the type of light I am using.. it is half blue artinic 03 or somethign and the other half is 10k kelvin rated white. :/

I believe undergravel filter is not strong enough for goldfish, so... :dunno:

Really cool design! :good: What are you planning for the tall plants? And have you tested the tank yet?
swords of some type..is there any kind of fern that will grow on and attatch itself to a rock? :/ and i am thinking some type of gray river rocks as gravel.. what size? and where can buy large river rocks?

Also! yes i tested the tank.. I just let it sit for 6 hursd and the water level never changed. :D Should I be safe and reseal anyway?

And as for gravel filters I just don;t want to waste space.. maybe i will maike a cave and find and underwater light to put in there or something. Goldfish love hidding spots. -_-

Just tie it to it with cotton, the roots will grow onto it and latch on, it's the same with java moss and anubias nana petite. Over time the cotton will dissolve, and won't harm your water.
