i could easily get a 55 full marine set up for my birth day for free!my moms friend needs to get rid of it due to lack of room and their 450 gal takes up alot of room.im not sure if i want to do marine yet though.it comes with everything they used and all i would need is transport.
what do u think?

I would say take it, do your research into how to maintain a marine tank and then go for it. You could setup a FOWLR tank which shouldn't too much of a leap from FW if you are happy and successful at keeping FW fish.

55g is a nice size tank to setup, should be to bad in keeping the water chemistry constant

well i have a 55 already that i was going to make my malawi once i got everything but my sister wants a tank now that she has her own place so i was gunna give her the saltwater syuff and fish and then keep what i wanted from the tank id get for free

IMO i would get the tank and full setup(make sure its free first), keep the bits i would use and sell the rest for a profit. With the money i would invest it on my FW tank.

If it's all setup you don't have to worry, many people who keep marines and freshwater find it easier to maintain a marine tank.Their is not many freshwater set ups which can be as nice as a marine tank.I would say it's a waste, and if you strip it down you will probably find alot of muck you won't be able to get rid of.
