Fourth sale, Third store

I have made my fourth sale of Swordie juvies since April. I have sold now to three of the four local stores(2 are part of the same chain but have only sold to one of them). I have sold 57 juvies now and the store owners/managers have all been very pleased with the fish I have sold them. I get about $1.43 per fish and it has helped to pay for food and accessories. They have also said they were very inerested in my plans to get some other colors then orange and I am going to work on breeding more of the original green Swords. This project may start in the fall so long as Murphy stays clear of my house.

Sounds good. I get 50p per juvenile guppy from my lfs ( think that's about 1 dollar). BTW who's Murphy?

He also finds other ways to make life interesting, like the chance of a dropped bit of toast landing jelly side up is directly proportional to the value of the rug!!

That's cool, paul! I started with platys, got going with angels around a year ago. They pretty much are self sufficient dollar-wise, store credit pays for all the food & such, another shop pays cash, it goes towards the electric & water. I keep teasing my wife that I have enough store credit to get a puppy now, she just scowls.

Wow, thats quite alot for swordtails- you've got a very nice lfs there ! I sell my guppys that i breed from time to time but im hoping to realy get into fish breeding when i get my new house and have space to do so on a decent scale, im trying to find some rare breeds right now although unfortunatly the supply for guppys is pretty bog standard when it comes to breeds, kinda like the stock that the breeders couldn't sell that my lfs picks up for pennys .

Lucky guy! Our lfs is not even interested. Can't give them away!!!! And they are not even interbred!

Paul, I am glad we live in Sweden..I also sell my swordies/mollies/platies to my lfs and get 10 crowns per fish. I took in 3 mollies and 3 platies last week and got 100 crowns store credit I was very pleased with that

Once when I took in fish one of the new girls asked the older lady like "Do we take fish?" and the older lady said to the younger girl "Yes we take fish from them they have great water" I felt so proud

Hey Elisabeth83, 100 for six fish is a good sale any day. My last sale was at Djur Magazinet and the seemed quite pleased with the size and condition of the fish. There was another customer in the store at the time and she seemed very impressed that I was selling fish to a pet store rather then going in to buy them!
