haha found fleet enema in our local drugstore ! costed me around 3 USD (converted) i was wondering if it is the same, says on the package it contains 19g of monobasic sodium phosphate and 7g of dibasic sodium in a 133 ml bottle :p

is it the same zig ?

i see i see :) im still trying to figure out the dosing for this thing :p since i cant test for phosphates... how do you dose your phosphates GF ??? you follow the EI with phosphates too ?

what the heck are you using the fleet for? sorry I am completely ignorant when it comes to co2 if this is what it has to do with. lol or are your fishies just feeling constipated :)

 no :p we are using fleet for the phosphate it contains :) [but if the cashier in the drug store were to ask me what the fleet was for i would have told her it was for my fishes !]

anyways back to the dosing
here is my EI sched with the fleet
13 gallon tank

M - traces (5ml[sera florena {iron and traces}])

T - kno3 (4-5ppm) Fleet for P (half an ml? 1ppm)

W - traces (5ml[sera florena {iron and traces}]) Fleet for P (half an ml? 1ppm)

TH - kno3 (4-5ppm) Fleet for P (half an ml? 1ppm)

F - traces (5ml[sera florena {iron and traces}]) Fleet for P (half an ml? 1ppm)

S - (rest day) [dunno why....]

Su - water change (50%) kno3 (4-5ppm) Fleet for P (half an ml? 1ppm)

what cha guys think....

Yes you have the correct product, told ya you would find it, you are useing the same fleet as me, there are 2 different formulas the other contains slightly less phosphate it depends on where you are in the world as to the formula you can buy.

Anyhow this is how i worked it out, the below quotation is from the guy who first discovered you could use Fleet as an alternative source of phosphate and in it he describes how to dose it (your formula) welcome to the fleet club :p

With regard to the amount of PO4 in Fleet or generic brand enema, Jason
Reck noted: "...well that seems to be up in the air yet as I just asked
that
very question and got 3 seemingly different answers."

Since I'm the one that first proposed this source of PO4 back in 2001, let
me try to explain what may lead to the confusion.

Each bottle contains 19 g. Sodium Phosphate and 7 g. Dibasic Sodium
Phosphate. The C. B. Fleet Co. web site states that those are the active
ingredients in each "118 ml delivered dose."  That would imply that the
PO4 concentration was 151 mg/ml.  But, according to a person I spoke with
at the Fleet Co. laboratory, the actual concentration of PO4 is 131.36
mg/ml, (which means it is based on the full 133 ml in the bottle, not the
118 ml of the average dose).  For our purposes the difference is
insignificant.

I believe you said your tank was 75 gallons or 284 liters.  So, 1 ml of
enema would provide 131 / 284 = about 0.5 mg/L (or ppm) in your tank.  If
there's no phosphate in your tap water, you might add 2 ml of enema after
a water change and another 1 or 2 ml mid-week.

Edit: I have more info on it if you want it, but i think that is the clearest description on how to calculate the dosage, all other sources still quote this passage as a reference.

amazing ! i shall take note of it !

so for my tank which is just 50 liters i would need
133/50 = 2.66 which is quite high ! i guess i need to dose only 1/3 of an ML hmmm could i dissolve fleet into water ? or no .... its hard to dose !! especially with my nano tank !! only 8 liters !! 1 ml of fleet would give 16 ppm !! hahaha

Im not sure what you could do, i suppose you could mix it with RO or distilled water to give the solution more volume and make it easier to measure out a dosage, although i havent heard of anyone doing this, my calculations for my tank are not to bad 1ml = 0.80 ppm PO4, i use a measure i got with another liquid fertiliser ages ago it enables 1ml measures really accurately, i would try the drugstore again and see if they have anything that will measure ml with some accuracey.

same here, couldnt find anobody in the net doing the same thing (dilluting fleet), actually i use a syringe (minus the needle) for dosing, really accurately :p i use it all the time actually , for feeding everyting :p hehe

im afraid of mixing it with water... im not sure if the solubility or the stability of the pure fleet would be changed if mixed with water ....

Another idea............invest in a test kit :D

I work in a nursing home, have very easy access to Fleet Enema solution. Would there be any benefit from just dosing this without doing the whole EI thing?

We use it as a phosphate alternative, the fleet contains lots of phosphate, you would use it in conjunction with EI, you are just replacing KH2PO4 mono potassium phosphate for the fleet, it is our source of PO4 for EI.

cant find a test kit for p04 here :( and wait i dont think there is one ?? or im mistaken :p yup fleet for phosphate... :p all the rest from other fertilizers :D
