I was doing a water change last night, i dumpped out the bucket and i saw hundreds of little bugs on the bottom of the bucket. I dumped a few in a cup and finished the water change. I vacuumed the tank so i'm gussing these bugs where in the substrate. I unburied my microscope its about 10 years old, and i made this on paint.

This is what they look like under the microscope, with out it they look like little specks. They can move quite fast too. So any idea on how i figure out what they are?

Thanks

Hi, i think i have the same problem. I can see loads of these white bugs in my tank crawing around.

Are they disc shaped with many legs.

Yes a gravel vac and you will need a med.
Fish louse adult ones are disc shaped with legs.
They have nasty hooks that carry bacteria in them and once they pierce the skin this bacteria enters the fish blood stream.

Hi wilder, thought i'd update you since you havn't set up your emergency call line yet. Those white bugs i mentoned before have muliplted in the tank where i took the fry from and look like white/clear aphids with two antennas. Theres no fish in the fry tank beceause there all in the adult tank. I mentioned before that i found these bugs in my adult tank so by reading what i've said you know how they got into my adult tank. I cleaned the adult tank totally and hopefully didnt leave any of these bugs. Hopefully you understand what i said since i've had a little wine.

Wilder your the best!!!!...i'm sure your a gal...can you confirm this?

Unsterlised equipment can pass things onto another tank.
Even unwashed hands if you put your hands in the main tank then straight to the other one.
