Found Another Reason Why They Call Em Hatchet Fish

if you look at my hatchets from the side, they are spinning so it looks like the friday the 13th guy threw em

but thats the only thing i could find thats funny, they are dying

right now im treating them for ich along with gouramis and a dojo loach, im afraid im going to have a total tank meltdown.

im so sad, how do you people just move on? now its gonna be stuck in my head knowing I contributed to killing my fish...

shouldve ignored my dad and petsmart. "get the gouramis on the first day, you need a starter fish.." " you dont need to cycle." stop adding the bacteria starter" "you need more fish" bull crap.

Many of us have been there, LFS give rubbish advice. The main thing is you are here now and hopefully getting the correct advice.

but the rest of my fish seem to be doing ok.

now im really going to cycle my tank

hatchet fish are prone to whitespot i believe i read somewhere. also how long has the tank been set up for. it might not have been mature enough for them.

no the tank wasnt even mature, the lady at petsmart said they would be a great fish, they just needed more food?
it didnt make sense to me, as i did reasearch and no one mentioned hatchets as good begginer fish, but i got thm anyway and when they died i noticed red under there gills, which is another thing that same lady told me to get the gouramis to "cycle" my tank with. i hate my petsmart, though its the only place to get rainbow fish. ill just have to disregard their "expertise".

but the hatchets were doing good until they got ich and i guess they couldnt handle it anymore. at least they managed to live past the return date
