Today, after my haircut, I headed on the adventure of going to find this place, it was about 30 minutes away but it was well worth it.

As soon as I walked in a big 100 gallon salwater tank was in my way, it had two fish, both about 4 inches high and 8 inches long. It was spectactular, but after that, the room it was in was where they sold all the dry goods, food, filtration and tanks and such. Then in the room behind the counter was where they had the fish. Off to the right side of the room was the freshwater, and the middle row and the left side of the store was the saltwater. The middle of it was where they had reef set-ups. All the coral and such and they had lionfish and eels on the left side. The freshwater selection wasn't great but they had a little bit of everything. Cichlids, yellows labs and the blue ones. BIG oscars on the back wall in what I presumed to be 120 gallon tanks, they must've been 10 inches long and 5 inches tall. HUGE! They had a large common pleco atleast 18 inches long in with the large oscar. They had little angelfish, probably no more than 1/2". But all the tanks seemed healthy, there was a fry tank in what I presumed to be livebearer fry, some of those were dead, but that was to be expected.

The coolest part was probably this very large saltwater tank I kept going to, it was probably 100 gallons. With two eels in it. One was a speckled moray, and the other was basically the same thing but with a different pattern. The larger one had to be around 30 inches long while the little one had to be around 18 inches long. Really spectacular. The larger of the two was about $299.99 USD. Which is basically the price of a 30 GB iPod, just for money comparison. Big Volitan Lionfish for $99.99 USD, but it was just crazy. I won't be going anywhere else to buy my fish, it was a relief to find a good dealer other than Petco and or PetSmart.

The other good thing about the trip was that I picked up some of their filter media from a 90 gallon tank, the guy just gave me the whole thing, and just put it in a bag and gave it to me. The tank had large 10 inch angelfish in it, but the first one he checked was the discus tank above it but it had a sponge filter. He also took me in the back to show me the filtration system, and it was huge, three 8 foot tall canisters and lots of balls for biological filtration in 3 huge tubs. (the canisters were about 3 feet in diameter.)

Very enjoyable place and well worth the travel time, so if anyone lives near or around Marietta GA USA. You need to head to that store, it's really nice.

Thanks for reading.

That's wonderful you've found such a great LFS. :good:

That sounds awesome! I travel through Atlanta/Marietta pretty often, might need to check this one out!

You will be sorely missed at Petco.
