It seems like I'm always skimming the ads to see what out there. So I stumbled across this.

Here's the listing...
55 gal acrylic aquarium (48x20x13) w/ EHEIM 2026 canister filter pump, gravel, rocks, airstone, decorations, light kit, 100 ft Python gravel vacuum, supplies, accessories. no stand.

I talked to the guy and he said he inherited it from his father; it was put into the custom-built-in bookcase in his house (that's why there's no stand included). He said he's looking for $50 for the tank and taking offers for $100 - $150 for everything.

PROs...
low price since it's been sitting around unsold for a while -- I could upgrade my 30 gallon while it's still pretty much empty -- wouldn't mind having those accessories since I don't have a python

CONs...
hate acrylic -- afraid if I pick it up, I won't setup the tank

Could I turn around and sell the tank only for $50 or $40?? Any takers here; I think I just want all the accessories.

Personly if somthing is completly what I want, i dont buy it. Its your call :) sounds like an alright offer, cept I dislike acrylic too :p

I have a 20g long waiting for a stand. It's currently sitting in a corner at the office I work at. If you do get the tank you should be prepared to either set it up or find a place to store it out of the way. IMO it's always a good idea to have a spare tank or two lying around in case you need it (like another tank develops a leak or you need to do a quarantine) but only if you have the room/preperations for it.

Eh, guess it doesn't matter now since the guy reneged on the deal. Well, actually first he backed out when I offered $100 for everything and said he would keep it. Then he said he wanted $250 and then he said you can have it for $200.

:grr:
