Found A Snail

I found a snail on the leaf of one of my Java Ferns today. I thought I had done a pretty good inspection of all the plants that are in there, but obviously there was a snail, or at least snail eggs? Should I take it out? I don't mind having it in there, but I just don't want to get a crazy snail population.

i would take it out

what does it look like, some snails you could keep in there and they wont reproduce. can you get a picture or describe it?
