Well, I found this DIY Co2 setup and decided i'd like to make it. But you see on the first jar/bottle, on the diagram it doesn't have a rubber stopper, but i'd of thought it will need one? What are your thoughts on this and can you give me any easier ways to make a DIY Co2 setup similar to this? (Note, it musn't be too visible nor big nor noisy nor should it need a plug). Please note, I plan to do the Co2 Yeast System, am I right in thinking that I just put the airstone in the tank and the Co2 will come out of it? I don't fancy making the reactor, or is there a more simple and smaller reactor?

Neal , why not run your c02 line right into your filter. Its 1 less thing to clutter up your tank with then.

I'm not sure if/how i'd be able to put it into my filter, it's a Fluval 2 internal filter, fancy telling me how to put it inside?
Oh, actually i'm getting my brothers tank and therefore my brothers filter that he has, not sure what it is though, but all I know is it's black and internal. Probably another Fluval 2.

May I add, your child is very cute!

Thanks for the input Simon, but my tank is only going to be a 15Gallon, and also I don't have a power head. Think i'm just going to find something simple.

I don't mind using an airstone in the tank for the Co2 to come out of, then my mam wouldn't complain about it being a waste of money, and I could just bury it under the substrate under the filter or something.

Cheers takes after her dad (not ) lol

to connect the co2 unit to you filter just push the tube through the inlet slats and between the two sponges.
To stop the end of the tube crushing you can use a plastic connector (used to join two sets of tubing) on the end.

It's just one round sponge, the filter is like 6 years old, so it's not the Fluval 2+, just the normal Fluval 2.
Some of the slots of the inlet have snapped off so it's possible to put it inside the filter, but not in the sponge, would that matter? I still think the airstone will be better, and it won't bother me having it in my tank, and it would also be less hassle IMHO, would that exact setup on the website work for me? With the airstone in my tank? It would have a return valve on it just between the airstone and the last bottle. Oh, i'm going to use 2L bottles for it, and just drill hole in the caps, would this work or is there a better way to do it rather than drilling in the caps, as they could crack. It's probably something obvious, but what other way could I keep the Co2 in the bottle? Ie what could cover the top that airline tubing will go into?
