they are awfully cute little things i don't know ANYTHING about puffers (can someone tell me waht gsp stands for ) so i can't really commen ton the rest of the thread, just wanted to say they're really cute

BTW Ron I have good news so you can relax.. I'm getting a 5 gallon hexagon next weekend for the second GSP, so calm your horses.

The big tank will be 46 gallon, not 60 tho.

And I never forced anyone to nominate my fish, I was just trying to make a relation with my fishes good looks by saying, "ok ok, I know you want to nominate him". Simple joke, bad sense of humor.

You're in here kicking and yelling about somebody elses fish I can appreciate your concern but perhaps you're not coming out of this shining like a twinkling star. GP is a young member who has limited funds and he's here to learn,not to be attacked. Do you really think calling somebody stupid is a good way of getting your point across?

And did anybody say anything whatsoever about banning you? WTF was THAT supposed to mean, coming after me now for trying to maintain the peace?

Up until your numerous cut downs and blows you were doing just fine. Now I see you've got a real attitude problem.

Ok guys I'm sorry but I had to think about this stuff. I managed to find a 20 gallon, which I will put the GSP alone for 5 months in. Then I'm getting a 50 gallon, and I'll go from there to see what I should put with him.

I am obsessing over this fish, and lots of people are telling me to return it on the live chat! I've managed to get a 20 gallon for him though, so everyone can breathe again.

When someone tells me to return a fish back to the pet store, for me it's like giving a child up for adoption. Maybe many of you don't really care that much for your fish, but this hobby is not about the money, its about me raising and caring for fish and letting them live long and happy lives, no matter what the cost. When people tell me to give back my fish, it's like giving back something that could have grown up in a nice home and be spoiled and happy... Giving a fish back is a choice for those who aren't devoted enough to their fish, and I'm happy to say that I am not one of those people. You didn't see me watch my friends flush live bettas because they were boring, no.

Whatever you think, Kelly. This is not the first time I've seen threads like this, in fact, I've seen tons and tons of threads like this. I've kept quiet about those, and finally, this thread got me going. Sure, you can say I have an attitude problem, again, whatever you say/think goes. It's too bad that you don't really know me enough to make any assumptions about me, but nobody's perfect. I said you could go ahead and ban me because I knew thats what ussually happened to people who say their oppinion around here. Oh well, there's a lot better forums around, isn't there, Kelly? Maybe I'll go to one of those, put my time into those just as I did here 510 posts. But you can treat me like crap just because I try to get my point across to an ignorant newbie who puts 2 GSPs in a 5 gallon.

GP, I posted on this thread because I was worried about your puffer(s). I didn't want to see them be tortured in that 5 gallon tank. And it's not any better that your getting another puffer to put in a 5 gallon hex. Whats the differance between a 5 hex and reg 5 gal? Also, Kelly says that you have a limited amount of money to put towards your hobby. (fishkeeping) What I have to say to that is that if you don't have enough money to give your fish the bare nesesities, you shouldn't be keeping fish at all. But again, just my oppinion.

Kelly, now I open the thread up to you so you can make some more assumptions about me. I'm very excited to see what you'll come up with next. The truth is, whatever you say about me won't really affect me, you don't even know me, plus, you live about 1000 miles away. Hope you two had a happy fouth.

P.S. GP, your welcome for saving two puffers that you probably would have killed. (I think you call this flaming, I could be wrong though, you do know that I have an attitude problem, just ask Kelly.)

Even though its none of my buisness..

I must say im with Ron. The ignorance and stupidity of alot of people here really builds the anger in me. I am exactly like him. I read lots of posts with people wondering why their fish is sick, and lo and behold, they have 5 angelfish and 25 neon tetras in a 10 gallon. I also snap quite alot, but in a calmer way.

Kelly.. It was kind of mean for you to tell Ron he had an attitude problem.. He probably couldnt help it. GP wouldnt listen to him, even though Ron knew more about it and was most likely correct. Im very glad GP that you found a 20 gallon to hold those puffer(s) untill you get your 46 gallon. But dont jump on Ron, all in all, he was in the right here, in my opinion. There are too many ignorant people on these forums that dont bother listening to the advice they came here for in the first place!

If the puffer is so small that we can't even see it in the picture I think it will be fine especially since we know it will be moved.
Also he said that the second GSP will go in a different tank, right?
I don't understand how this is so horrible

Its horrible because -no matter what- a GSP cannot be in a 5 gallon. Just like Ron said, it CANT. Not even if it was microscopic. They grow quickly and need territory space. You have to think of the fish in the long run, not how small and cute it looks in the pet shop.

Ron, u know how u said that back when this forum was new, u had so much fun? well, if u noticed, silver has been here 2 months before u and kelly has been here 5 months before u, i beleive kelly's username before was wuvmybetta? and calling people stupid is like flamming, go to the newbie section and read the rules.

i'll get flamed for this but uh....i think u can keep 2 little gsp in the 20 gallon tank ,figuring that u cannot even see it in a 5 gallon, now 20 someone mentioned that u can keep the small puffer for a short amount of time in the 10 gallon but not the 5 gallon so

1 gsp = 10 gallon

2 gsp = 20 gallon?

as i said this is okay if u are going to upgrade the tank

My sympathies GodricPuffer, I've heard been whacked over the head with a copy of "dummies guide to fish keeping" can be pretty painful.

The only advice I can add is dont leave it a too long (IE 6 months+) before introducing the two GSPs as they get more grumpy and set in their ways with age.

BTW, cute puffer. Were those pics took with a digital cam?
