I recently started a topic called good bacteria about my new (second hand) tank and filter in which i have started a fishless cycle and wondered wether the first ammonia doses shifted so quick because there was still good bacteria alive in the filter.
However on trawling the forum i have stumbled on a topic which suggested it being pointless fishless cycleing with a planted tank.
I have 15 live plants in my tank!!!!!i looked up what i could in the plants section and did find some reference to this but not really advice on which way to go now with regards to how this may effect me.
Tank is 600ltr
Filter is Fluval FX5
Cycle has only been going about 11 days the ammonia dosage (5ppm) is going in about 18/24 hrs nitrite is just starting to rise.
How should i now approach this with regards lights,dosing,testing and readings.
Or am i wasting my time,dont really want to take plants out now unless i have to.
Any advice please
