So I was at the fish store a few days ago looking for a new lightbulb when I decided to give the bettas a visit. Lo and behold, there is this absolutely stunning mustard gas super delta sitting there in a quarter gallon tank with water so green you can barely tell if it's fins are yellow! He was resting in the back behind a plant, so when I first got a look at him, I thought he was dead. Apparently he's had some fin trouble too.. an entire half of his big beautiful tail is missing!

Needless to say.. I'm making a rescue mission today. I was pretty disappointed with this store.. they usually take fairly good care of their bettas. >C

Any suggestions for getting that fin to grow back? I've got some Bettafix.

Here are some pix (With flash and w/o flash.)

Change water very often (every other day maybe?) and maybe add some bettafix too to prevent finrot/etc :)

Nice fish! I like the colouring in the non-flash pic...

Lovely boy!!!  Sparkling clean water, aquarium salt, and stress coat or bettafix should do the trick with his poor tail

Awww....pour little guy....he's tooo cute!!

I agree with what everyone else has suggested. I've had my best luck with clean water and Stress Coat =) Just keep a very close eye on the tips of his fins....if they turn clear (which you can see they are doing now) that's a good sign - new growth. If the tips turn red or black, that means he's got fin rot.

Good luck!! :good:

Feed him some really good quality Attisons Pro, that will help get his systems in peak order thus helping him heal :)

lovely fish, and nice save :)
