I came across this while surfing around the web and it looks like the Danes were experimenting with DIY Co2 a long time ago, i thought it was interesting, i especially like the piece at the end.

EDITOR'S NOTE: One thing that worried us when we first read this article was, wouldn't the fermentation in the bottle containing the yeast-sugar-water combination make the room smell like a brewery ? We asked Mr. Olesen about it, and he assures us that this is not the case.

Thanks for that! Københavns Akvarieforening, (Copenhagen Aquarium Society), is still very much alive and well. Is Scandinavias oldest fish club - started in 1915. I've just sent a mail to their chairman asking if either of these two guys are still around.

a single mixture should run a stone day and night for a full month.

Caught my eye. Whilst my bottles last a couple of weeks, they have never run for a month.
