hey guys what food do you guys thinks the best because ive been feeding a mixture of pellets and muscle and then some guy at a differnt aquarium said that it would nuke my tank. please help

Brine Shrimp Plus by Formula Foods is good. It has squid, clam, shrimp, brine shrimp, fish, green algae, and is loaded with vitamins. The fish love it! Just make sure that uneaten food gets picked up. Maybe thats what he meant, that the pellets werent good because if they didnt get eaten they would cause ammonia.

I just mix frozen krill, brine and mysid together and feed that to my fish. I also sometimes put some nori in the tank, mainly for the my coral beauty. Occasionally (very occasionally) I'll feed them granules, but I only do that when I can't be bothered going downstairs and getting the frozen stuff.

that's what a cleaning crew is for...just don't waaaaaaaaaay overfeed them

I feed the following (not all at once obviously)

Delicasea Flake (Fish's favorite Flake)
Frozon Brine & Enriched Brine (1's a week I add Garlic to this)
Marine Dream (One of the best Marine Foods IMO)
Cyclop-eeze Flake & Granules (Fish & Corals love this stuff)
Liquifry (Filter Feeders)

& my own blended food - King Prawns, Mussles, Crab, Garlic, Cycloeeze, 1/2 Cup of Flake (this is blended & then frozen, when I add it to the tank I stick it to the glass & can see who is eating & who is not)

1 addition - Forgot about NORI

I'll qualify one thing....a lot depends on your tank size. If you have a large tank, all the above is true. The smaller your tank gets, you have to be careful about foods that contribute to high nitrates. Eg, I wouldn't put krill, squid, mussels or clams in my tank....very high in protein which breaks down to high nitrates. But then...I have a 24G tank.

Mysid shrimp are excellent for small fish as are Cyclo peeze, which btw are good for corals too. I'm also very happy with Ocean Formula II flake. SH
