I just noticed while feeding frozen worms to the fish that my bronze corys are eating worms, but immediately after consuming them, would come straight out of their gills?

Is this normal? I never noticed before and am really worried if its a sign of a disease? I have a group of 6, so they all seem healthy.

Tank stats are:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
Ph 7.0
Temp 27oC

Is it the whole bloodworm coming out or just particles?
Hi Splish, its the whole, entire bloodworm coming out, this worried me as sometimes you'll see 3 worms come out in a row and makes you wonder how many worms the cory consumed.

Is this normal?

It's normal for them to do that when sifting through sand. Mine do it all the time but I've never paid close attention to see if they do it with worms. I think so long as they're eating and the worms don't stay and pollute the tank uneaten, the fish are okay.

Perhaps they don't like bloodworms... do you feed them other supplements?
