Since I want the best for my Betta Fish I am switching them to Tropical Flakes, but I am scared that affecting there diet could stress them? Is this true? Or am I just being a worry wart?

Err, sorry but betta flakes aren't that great for bettas. Probly the food you have now is better than the flakes. They really need something frozen or pellets, but if it is necessary and you believe you should switch the switch might or might not stress out your boy/girl.
The reason I said flakes arent that good is because flakes usually lack in nutrition for carnivores, so what might be fine for guppies wont be very good for bettas.
Brine shrimp - live/frozen is the best you can offer ALONG with the flakes or pellets or whatever.

I doubt you'd get the Bettas to eat flakes, most either won't go near them, or will spit them out. Micropellets for tropicals/Bettas are the way to go, with some frozen blood worms of brine shrimp every now and then. I prefer bloodworms, because I think brine shrimp has more of a chance not being found and eaten. Actually, I drop my bloodworms in one at a time with tweezers to make sure that each one gets eaten. That's mainly because my Bettas don't have a filters, and I want to make sure the water is kept as clean as possible.

Did you try Hikari Betta-Bio Gold pellets before?
Most Bettas like the pellets better. ;) That's what I use.
Good luck!

a mixture of food is best, most flaked food doesn't contain the extra minerals and vitamins that bettas need, mine get flake once a week then pellets and bloodworm and peas for the rest
