my poor barb population has been slowly dwindling for some reason, and this morning i noticed my biggest favourite one was missing. i looked all over the aquarium and could not find him! so i gave up and started to get dressed, when i l ifted up a shirt off of my floor and saw a little dried up barb!!! now my tank is about 4 feet up on a dresser, and this guy was easily 3 feet away from the base of the dresser!

oh man oh man i just screamed and was so surprised.
the poor guy commited a flying leap of fishicide!!!

im still in shock...wow.

now i only have 4 barbs and instead of buying 2 more to have a peaceful shoal i think im going to try giving them back to my LFS because i just cant handle these crazy guys. theyre hilarious and i like them but ive just had way too many mysterious problems.

well this was the first to jump out in about 6 months so im not worried about this phenomenon happening again, the others have died from im guessing swim bladder disease...and other mysterious ailiments.

You made it sound as if you were returning them, cause they jump out of tank. Almost any fish has the ability to jump out of your tank. Secure your tank :flex:

oh no im returning them because of a plethora of problems, from bullying to well i guess this, but this isnt why, its just now that i dont have enough for them to not bully eachother, which may cause more deaths.

Problems could be coming from something you are doing wrong also.

Dont blame your fish, figure out the problem, else you will be back here with a new batch of fish complaining about samething.

What are your water test results? Is your tank cycled? What is in tank with them?
