Fluvial clearmax

Hi all,hoping someone can help me,please can someone explain where to put the clearmax in my fluvalu2 filter does it go inside the media unit and does it stay inside the white bag it comes in? I think I may have made the mistake of tipping some into the media unit with the bio stuff that's already in there (I don't know what it's called) thanks in advance

I don't remember who has a Fluval tank here, I think maybe @essjay?

Stays in the bag, some pieces will float and its a pain to clean out otherwise. Meant to stay in the bag or you can put it separate media bags
