Hello everybody!!!
I'm on the 12th day of a fishless cycle and I'm trying to get together a list of fish that I can put into the tank when i'm fully cycled. The tank is a 90 litre and the dimensions are L 60cm x D 35cm x H 45cm. I have browsed round a few LFS and searched for suitable fish. All I want to know really is what would be your opinion on the below fish. What can I keep together and how many of each to suit my tank and more importantly the fish.

Fish I like:

Dwarf gouramis
Corydoras - bronze/albino/sterbai
Cherry barbs
black widow tetra
Red honey gourami

I would stick with Dwarf Gouramis in that size of tank, Corys will be ok in a group of 6 or more as will cherry barbs. Black widow tetras can be a bit nippy, try black phantom tetras instead. Also, I would think about Harlequin Rasbora's they are funny zippy little fish to watch.

How about
3 dwarf gouramis (1m 2f)
10 harlequin rasboras
6 kuhli loaches
10 red cherry shrimps

Thanks for the reply Zante but what about the list of fish that I have put above? Are they compatible with each other???

Sorry, can't help you much there, I'm quite a newbie myself, but you do have in your list a mixture of amazon and Asian fish. I have the same kind of mixture in my own Roma 90 and I am trying to shift it more towards an Asian biotope, and moving my amazon fish in a new tank.

What I suggested is an Asian biotope, very similar to what I'm planning for my own tank.

Can the fish still be mixed even if they are from different continents?

Well... Mine are doing fine for the moment. I'd say that it's ok as long as water parameters are right and there are no aggressive fish, but I've recently come to think that it is better to keep to a biotope.

One thing I didn't mention because I didn't notice before. In your selection you have three different shoaling fish. In a tank the size of a Roma 90 you might want to reduce that to two: one mid-water species and a bottom feeder species. It is better to have fewer more numerous shoals. They look better and the fishes will be happier.
