Fluval Plant Stratum

i have just purchased a tank that has this substrate in the tank,i would like to keep it,does anyone know how long it will take to clear once i put water in the tank,as itwas not new when i bought it i am expecting the tank to look rather dirty and cloudy to start.

if filled slowly, you shouldn't get that much kick up. I always fill with an airline when using soils.

I used to have it, its good stuff but it really messy! It eventually clears up but any disturbance of the substrait sends the tank into darkness!

I've had some in mine for a few months now and it doesn't make much of a mess when disturbed. The worst part is if you accidentally crush some outside of the tank! ;-)
