malfunction

Hi everyone,
First off, I'm fairly new to using the forum, so apologies in advance if I've posted this in the wrong place or using the wrong format.
I plan on upgrading my tank in the next few months to accommodate a group of geophagus. I'm also going to get a new filter as my current ones (Eheim 2215 & Fluval 205) won't be enough. I'm thinking of getting either a Fluval FX5 or Fluval FX6 as these have been recommended by a number of web reviews (and my LFS). Also, it's over £100 cheaper than the Eheim equivalent. Does anyone here have either of these Fluvals? And if so, can you tell me how long they last? Although I'm tempted to get the Fluval over Eheim because of the price, I don't want a filter that'll break down in a couple of years.
