Fluval Edge

Has anyone got one of these?
Are they worth the money?

I am wanting to get back into the hobby but cant seem to find a decent second hand tank that OH will agree too ( he insists it must be oak or dark wood, eg. roma or juwel 125 with cabinet) only I cannot find one in price range so have given up

I like the look of the fluval edge but it is a lot smaller than what I am used too.

What sort of stocking could I go for? Was thinking a betta and some cherry shrimp (how many?)

The tank looks good but is it too small to do anything with?!

I got a fluval edge and within 2 weeks upgraded to a jewel rio 180 .. One of the main reasons being... The edge is soooo limited in what you can stock ! I hav decided on 8 endler guppies for it .. And thts me fully stocked.. Maybe a few small shrimps would be okay! It's much harder t do water changes etc as there's only a small opening at the top, and even with the fluval edge syphon its hard t get into corners ! I upgraded to the LED lights which look much better than the haligen ones! Although it has its negatives it looks great and im keeping it

Hope this helps ( bear in mind.. I've only had both tanks for 3 weeks so this is very early stages for me just my opinion so far )

Oh and also.. Apparently it's not the best tank for bettas due to the small opening at the top ... But a lot of people have kept them successfully by the sounds of things

I have an Edge with a Betta & some endlers.
Like you I got it because I liked the look of it.
It is tricky to keep clean & you're very limited stocking wise.

Thanks Corrine, I want the bigger tank but cant afford the £250 a bigger one will cost. The edge is on offer for £80 but I will need heater etc.

I have searched for a second hand tank I like but cant find one!

I think the edge looks great but not if I can only fit one fish in it ?!

Have you looked on Gumtree, there's sometimes a bargain to be had there.
eBay is good too

I got mine off of gumtree but I was quite lucky with it as it was the only one on there.

Hi cazgar. I have looked on gumtree and ebay. I specifically want a roma 125 or 200 or juwel rio but must be dark wood and they are like gold dust!

I also have a silly car (alfa mito).hence might struggle traveling it home!

Aw thats a shame .. I never find bargains !! Well the edge does look great.. and some of the smaller fish are really cute.. like the endler guppies.. or celestial pearl danio (I think its called tht hehe)! You can plant it aswell.. theres some really nice planted fluval edges that look FAB!!!

You could always upgrade in the future
