Hi,

Does anyone have any experience in upgrading the lighting in their own Fluval Edge? We've had the tank for several weeks now and wanting a bit more light to reach the corners of the tank for our plants. I don't want to change the wiring or anything like that (want the warranty intact and be able to take it back if anything goes wrong).

Any help/advice greatly appreciated :)

Hi

Some more powerful halogen bulbs should be fine, but they may affect the tanks temperature so bear that in mine. I have the standard lighting in mine so I know what you mean, changing the bulbs shouldn't affect the warranty at all.

I have also seen some people put waterproof LED strips in the hood/top to give some more white light

Think we will go down the route of some new led lights, would love a white-ish light instead of the yellow-ish you get with the standards.

Yeah they look much better, especially if you have a sand bottom as well. You can them on eBay fairly cheap.

Be aware a lot of them you need to buy the power/transformer separately.
