Hope people in this forum will have some handy 'fix it tips'.

I have the Fluval E series 50w heater. I hiked up the temp to 29.5C for fishless cycling. Cycle finished so did a big water change yesterday in preparation to go buy fish today. Also needed to drop temp to say 26C.

But the lever on top of the heater - which with a push to the left drops the temp and a push to the right ups the temp - seems to have got stuck on the left hand side. The temp can go up as I have discovered but pushes to the left are no longer working to bring the temp down.

Has anyone come across this before and can advise or knows the heater and could suggest how to fix it by playing about with the insides of the heater? I don't have a clue but I know you can take the back off to do some maintenance work.

At the mo, I'm stuck and it looks like it might derail my exciing trip to get fish today as I don't want to put them in 29.5C water.

Can anyone help?

I am not familiar with this heater, however, be aware that if you fiddle with it your warranty will be null and void.  Shame you did not get it locally then they would have replaced it for you on the spot.  One thing to check is that no small particle of gravel has got stuck in the adjuster, hopefully you will be able to see it with a magnifying glass.  Try swilling it around upside down (turn off first) to loosen any debris/substrate that maybe trapped?

I recommend you read Amazon reviews as often things can be learnt from them, more than from a products manual, plus don't forget Amazon.com too.  Also, check out Youtube there maybe someone showing things about the heater on there

Hope you still manage to get your fish, even if it means a new heater.
