is this enough for my 75g? if not, could i make some sort of sump on the cheap that will filter this amount of water ?

For mbuna? Two might do the trick. But not one.

I agree, I have a +3 and a +2 in my 55g. Good filters but you could do with at least and additional +3, that should be fine.

Yup. An AC500 is a great cost effective choice. $32 at Big Al's Online.
