Fluval 305 Spray Bar Kit

I recently bought this for my son in laws tank.

The tank he has got is one of those that came with the holes drilled in the bottom of it to take the rigid pipes for the filter.(its a fluval tank, not sure which one though).
Now this kit came with no fitting instructions and after a bit of digging around it looks like it will only fit on the flexible type pipes which he hasn,t got.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way around this apart from sending the thing back.

my fluval came with plugs to blank off the holes in the bottom,could blank off one and get a hose for the spray bar .

The tank sounds like it had a sump and the best thing you could do would be to blank off the holes and just use the external conventionally

No thats the way the tank was bought, the holes are pre drilled specifically for the filter, it just seems mad that you can,t get a spray bar if the filter is installed that way.

Ok, what is the make & model of the tank? I am thinking at least 200 litres.
