Fluval 305 Filter

Hi all

I have just purchased a Fluval 305 filter for my 190 litre Jewel corner tank, At the moment im running it along side the filter that came with the tank, untill its own bacteria builds up. Got to say Im well impressed with it, never seen the water looking so clean

My question is, what is the best media set up for this filter, at the moment im just using the media that came with the filter, but im under the impression that its very flexible as to what media you can use.

Some ideas on what other members use and where they place them within the filter would be a great help, and also why.

I swaped from my standard internal to a 305 about a month ago now and u are right really gets the water sparkaling. U don't have to run both filters together tho btw I just packed all my old media from the previous filter into the new media baskets and but the foam screans inbertween the new ones. Didn't even get a resulting mini cycle.
In regards to the order or combination it depends what u want from the filter. If u have plants remove the activated carbon as this removes nutriants and meds if u r using them. I pursnally I have got it set up as follows.
Filter foam screens ( obviously)
Polishing pads at the bottom of the media stack
Then ammonia remover in the next run
Then at the top bio rings
