Does anyone know... when replacing high-lite tubes, do the end caps need replacing each time too ??

Thanks

No, i only replace mine when the seal looks iffy

Hi , thought id re-use this thread for another quick question....

For anyone who has a fluval 305, do you turn it off when doing a water change ? is it safe to do so ? because the outlet pipe should remain under water, but obviousley its not going to when doing a water change.... if you know what i mean.

thanks.

I turn mine off generally. It just means sometimes you have to re-prime the filter to get it pumping again.

i was hoping someone would reply fast as im about to do a water change now... thanks :good:

That why i asked though, because last week i did turn it off but had to prime it when turning it back on... thought i might beable to just leave it on instead.

I never switch it off. If you don't have a GFI (ground fault interupter for shutting off power if there is a fault) fited to the circuit though, it is advisable to swich off, for your own safety more than anthing else. Running the filter with the outlet above the waterline will do no damage. You only have to worry when the inlet comes out of the water :good:

I leave my 405 running. Doesn't matter if the outlet comes out of the water as long as the inlet doesn't

Oh right... i guess it makes sense though, externals with spray bars as outlets are usually above water level..

Thanks for your replys people
