I already have a Fluval 204 (not sure of age, but got it two years ago when I got the tank second hand), and a TetraTec ex700 both running for my 180L tank.

The 204 seems to be dying, so I'm looking to replace it. The only real issues I've had with it have been a bit of leaking, and some real issues pulling the pipes off the filter.

I've been looking at either the Fluval 206 (hoping they've improved it), or the TetraTec 800 (which seems to be an upgrade for the 700 I already have).

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions over which would be better?

In case anyone was wondering, I bought a TetraTec ex800 for £70.

I prefer the locking management of their filters, and I can just use the same media for both filters now.

Tetratec, quiet and reliable. For many years I used Fluval and was quite pleased with them till I discovered Tetratec now I use nothing else.

I tested that the filter Aquael Ultramax 1500 is extremely quiet and has tremendous power. I recommend to everyone. It has a built-in pre-filter, thanks to which it does not have to open the entire filter during normal cleaning. Just continuously clean the prefilter and everything works great.
