Fluval 205 Question

Hi Guys,

My tank has finally arrived with all the bits and bobs that go with. The i filter have is a external fluval 205.

When i opened the packaging i found that there were no instructions what so ever inside paper or dvd.

Now i have been on the web and found out how to put this thing together.

My only concern is all the diagrams i have seen of this filter show the hoses coming in from the top of the tank hanging down.

My tank has holes leading up through the stand into the tank from the bottom. So basically my pipes are pointing up instead of down.

Is this going to be ok? I hope ive explained it well enough for you experts to get a grasp of what im going on about.

I have a fluval 305 and used to have a 105. I'm not exactly sure what you're saying but I'll try to answer your questions.

The filter must be below the bottom of the tank it cannot be higher than the tank. The tubes should be slack but have no kinks. Now i'm not sure it's possible but if you're saying you have holes in the bottom of your tank (which seems very impractical and i don't understand how it wouldn't leak?!?) Then I think if you plan on having the actual filter nosel upside down at the top of the tank you may have problems but perhaps if you could turn it sideways so it is horizontal or if there is someway you could turn it the right way up. As for the filter being directly below the tank that should be ok as long as (as i said earlier) there are no kinks and the tubing is slack.

I know what you mean, my fluval vicenza 180 has it, it is ok, make sure you tighten jubille clips up well ti ensure no leaks!

Off out saturday day to find some dark coloured sand for my tank )
