Fluval 2 Bubbles

Hi All,

For some reason my Dad's Fluval 2 pump/filter (3 months old) has stopped producing any air bubbles in the outlet flow. It used to produce lots but has now stopped.
I've removed the pump, cleaned the filter pads (in tank water), removed the pump impeller etc etc and cleaned the outlet and small screw arrangement on the outlet....but all to no avail.
Can anyone out there make any suggestions as to what might be wrong and should I be concerned? Does the pump need to produce any bubbles?

the pump is not supposed to create bubbles , its just to create flow and filtration.
anyway the bubbles are really unnecessary, actually pointless they hardly even put oxygen into tank instead the just create movement to break the surface tension which lets gasses escape.

you dont need bubbles anyway, just aim the outlet so it breaks the surface, and that way oxygen will get into the water
