One of my male bettas had tail rot.. I've been treating with pimafix for the past 2 days.. it appears that the tips are now turning fuzzy with fungus also.. then the next day the fungusy part falls off.. I really don't know if pimafix is strong enough..

I'm wondering if I can dip the fuzzy part of the tail into some pimafix directly? I feel like I really need to try something drastic or it wont live much longer.. it's losing a lot of tail each day. If I can stop it within a day or 2 I think it will survive, but in 3-4 days I think it will either be dead, or to the point of no return.

Pimafix says add a tsp per 10g everyday for 7 days.. but I don't think I have that much time.. it's in a 1g tank.. I've added about 1/2 a tsp total in the past 2 days. I thought that would be a strong enough dose to get rid of it, but it's tail is still fuzzy.

Any advice on what I could do?

I don't think Pimafix is the right thing to be using... isn't that for fungus and stuff? Fin rot is caused by bacteria, so Melafix is what you want. Or if you don't have that, you can use an antibiotic like tetracycline.

The fuzzy stuff on the tail = fungus... pimafix is supposed to treat bacterial and fungal infections..

anyways, it's not doing so well.. just sittin around the bottom of the tank.. I did a 25% water change, and will probably do another tonight.. It's still eating, so I'm hopeful... I'm a little worried about cuttin the piece of tail off... wont that cause more stress/shock and lead to more problems?

Another betta is sick too.. its stomach area is turning white.. I've had this happen before.. never had a betta survive it.. it's also sittin on the bottom not moving much.

Both bettas are close to 2 years old, so they're probably succumbing to old age.
