Flowerhorns In The Uk

Hiya everyone!!
Who in the UK keeps flowerhorns? ive met a few people now in the UK that keep them but surely there has to be alot more flowerhorn fans here?
I'm crazy about FH's i think that they are such beautiful fish and are so fun too watch i would be lost without them!

That is a lovely looking fish. Ive kept flowerhorns in the past and they are very enjoyable to watch. I hope to free up a tank soon so I can keep one again

Latest news is my 450 litre Rio 400 is being sold soon to a friend of my parents and I'm getting my 8x2x2 sooner than I thought the original plan was to keep the Rio and have the 8ft tank in January/February time, keep the flowerhorn in the 5ft and do something different with the 8fter. Now I'm going to have to work my stock in the 8 footer around my flowerhorn

It's there type Isle of Wight into the search bar on AC and it's the first add titled flowerhorn cichlid I'm not sure what type I will be after when I have a free tank I love dbanners thai silk. But I also love the multi colored ones like my old one. So I will just have to see whats avalable in my area

Thank you for the comment. I went to one of my LFS earlier and noticed they have a 7 inch blue diamond flowerhorn for £90 i but mine up for "offers" in the local classifieds just to see how much id get offered... 2 days later i was offered £75. Mines currently 5 inches (just over) i paid £20 at just over an inch.... I will definitely be keeping mine or some time yet

Dbanner was it pughs you seen the blue diamond? they call all flowerhorns down there blue diamonds lol i sold the marine guy a King kamfa and he later on sold it to pughs and advertised it as a blue diamond lol im not slagging them off coz i do get on with all the workers there and they do get alot of crap of customers but when it comes to flowerhorns they dont have a clue lol, Josh just found your fh on aquarist very nice ZZ when your ready for a new horn if you cant find what you are looking for give me a PM im sure i can post one to the isle of wight i import all my flowerhorns from Thailand

Yeah it was a beauty of a fish. Wish I could have kept it but when I bought it at about 1 inch I didn't know a great deal about flowerhorns and had it mixed with my sa/ca cichlids and as it got bigger it just got meaner and meaner it was battering a jag cichlid that was much bigger than it. I just have to sell 5 channa pulchra and I will have an empty 4ft tank. So will be looking for a new flowerhorn very soon. I'l give you a shout

Yep it was in Pughs. It used to be up for £85 but they've upped the price. I have seen other flowerhorns in there as well like red dragons which belonged to a friend of mine which i think he said he had them from you?? 3 red dragons... he traded them in and pughs put them up for £40 each at 6 inches.

They got a lovely snakehead there for £25 as well... Can't remember the name of it but looks a lot like a fire and ice type. I noticed they've also just had in clown knife fish £20 (around 6-7 inches) and they have some 2 inch Kelberi peacock bass in too.. £42 each... Very nice.

In general I find them very good... There are a couple of boys there I know which know their stuff, especially on cichlids as well as predatory species like the bass, bichirs, rays and snakeheads

He's a juvenile male and is about 9 inches by 4.
