Has anyone ever used this product, and does it have good effects on plants?

And will it be fine in a tank with shrimp, snails aswell as fish?

yes, its very good, high levels will harm inverts such as shrimp, but if you stick to the instructions on the bottle you should be fine.

I use it too. I have caused "crypt melt" with it in early overdosing but that was a long time ago and the same crypt looks good and I continue to use excel with success. WD

crypt melt can be just the plant adapting to its new enviroment, many people get it when they first add the plant to the tank, wierdly, i have never, i think this may be down to my high ph and hardness..
