I just ordered a bunch of Flourish products. Typically, I had dosed Flourish, Excel, Trace, and Iron. I have read here that Trace is a waste, but I am not sure about Iron. I have Ecocomplete substrate, which is rich in Iron as I understand it, so do I really need to dose it regularly?

At any rate, I am changing my dosing to consist of Flourish, Excel, Potassium, and Calcium (for inverts). I also purchased Eqilibrium because I am using RO water all of the time, due to problems with tap water at my new residence. I have vey little Iron and Trace left. Can anyone recommend a dosing schedule for me. I was thinking of the following:

Day 1 Water Change - Equilibrium, Calcium (I have soft water and want to keep shrimp and snails; going to use Reef Calcium in small dose)

Day 2 Flourish, Excel, and Potassium (higher Excel and potassium dosages than to come)

Day 3 Excel

Day 4 Flourish and Excel

Day 5 Excel and Potassium

Day 6 Flourish and Excel

Day 7 Excel

Any input. I could add iron and trace to the schedule, but I really don't want to be either anymore. I'd conside Iron if that is important. I am not putting nitrogen or phosphorum into my tank at all.

looks ok. Dose the flourish only 1-2 times per week instead of 3 or you might get an algae outbreak. What do you got tank-wise? How heavily planted? The iron dosing has to do with what plants you have. Red plants have a much higher iron need than green plants.
